Graeme Bailey reveals Leeds United summer transfer plans with intriguing RedBull claim

Transfer specialist Graeme Bailey told Leeds United News that the team has two plans for the summer: one for case they are promoted, and another for if they stay in the Championship. Those working behind the scenes at Elland Road also acknowledge that they have a lot of work ahead of them during the summer transfer window, according to Bailey.

He said: “Leeds have had a two-pronged summer plan for much of this season – one Premier League and one Championship. They are very hopeful it is the Premier League plan. And yes they realise, they need to do work.

“Their current squad has a number of areas that need addressing: left-back, no.10, a striker and goalkeeper are the big ones, but I think we see half-a-dozen players come in. They will also be leaning on RedBull for their European knowledge, don’t underestimate that could be a big help to them this summer.”

How Leeds United might use RedBull connections in the summer transfer window

RedBull is one of Leeds United’s minority owners. With RedBull clubs’ general functionality frequently praised, it provides the Whites with a highly beneficial relationship in international football, and in European football specifically. RedBull’s potential to support Leeds United’s future transfer aspirations was previously disclosed by 49ers president Paraag Marathe.

Although one or two players have been linked to moves to West Yorkshire this season, Bailey’s remarks may indicate that Leeds United would instead turn to the RedBull scouting network in summer rather than pursuing players at other RedBull clubs.

At RB Salzburg, Adam Daghim was the final. Leeds United reportedly kept an eye on Daghim earlier this year, but the connection has since cooled off.

The match between Leeds United and Oxford United begins at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.
