Following the news that Leicester City would be fined for violating PSR regulations but will not lose any points this season, Leeds United will be furious.

When the Foxes file their financial statements for the 2022–2023 season—the season they were demoted from—it is anticipated that they will have incurred more losses than the maximum of £105 million over a three-year span.

Furthermore, as reported by Sky Sports News on March 7, the Premier League may now be prepared to formally charge them as early as the next week.

The Toffees and Nottingham Forest are awaiting a new hearing for another charge before the end of the season. Everton has already been charged and received a six-point reduction on appeal.

Nevertheless, the report claims that even though the violations occurred within the same time period, the Foxes are exempt from the regulations because Leicester was demoted and they were altered after the conclusion of the previous campaign.

Leeds United suffering again

Leeds was the team that suffered the most when Everton’s case was postponed until after the season, and it was expected that they would have been demoted given the six-point penalty.

It would also bolster Daniel Farke’s team’s argument for automatic promotion back to the top division at the first attempt if Leicester were to suffer the same fate this season.

It has even been argued that Leicester, whether they play in the Premier League or the Championship, may lose points at the beginning of the following season as a result of the breach. Thus, it has to be executed this season if it can be done in a separate division.

Once again, Leeds is the ones suffering from this absurd loophole, even though they haven’t breached any regulations and everyone around them has. This is the second year in a row.
