Failed medical-Expected permanent Leeds exit in doubt as ace flops after medical condition – report

Marc Roca’s presumed Leeds United exit to Real Betis is now in doubt due to his faltering form in La Liga, according to Mucho Deporte. The Spanish outlet reported via their website on 4 March that the on-loan midfielder’s future at the club is now in question amid poor form in the wake of being hit by pneumonitis, an inflammation of the lungs.

The likelihood of an extension to his loan is decreasing because the Whites are presently expected to secure at least a Championship play-off spot.

Financially speaking, a permanent transfer was previously seen as difficult, particularly in light of his recent on-field struggles.

Leeds United transfer news: Marc Roca exit now in doubt as form suffers after pneumonitis

The midfielder on loan from Leeds United might not be able to leave the club.

Roca had proven to be a valuable member of the Betis team this season, breaking through into the national lineup and making it clear in no fewer than several statements that he intended to be around when the regular season concluded.

Nevertheless, he has been absent from three of their last six La Liga games, and Mucho Deporte claims he was “not good” when he was substituted out of the game at halftime of their weekend loss to Atletico Madrid.

As recently as January 15, El Desmarque reported that talks had already been started between him and his agents regarding his continued status at the Seville-based club. That is a dramatic decline from being regarded as one of the “most sought-after players in the country.”

Since his loan had no permanent option in the event that Leeds United is promoted to the Premier League, it was thought to be a difficult deal for Betis to make in any case.

Marc Roca had a rough time in the Premier League for Leeds United.

If that was a roadblock while he was performing well, then it should come as no surprise that the Spanish are put off by the concept if he is performing poorly. They are reportedly unable to finance anything in the neighbourhood of €20 million [£17.1 million].

His lack of success in Germany and his comfort level in Spanish football suggest that the Whites would be content to simply recoup the £10 million they paid Bayern Munich two summers ago [Sky Sports]. However, that may not be feasible. He never seemed fully suited for the Premier League.
