Jamie Shackleton ‘definitely out’ ahead of Leeds clash v Huddersfield

On Saturday, March 2, Leeds United will go to John Smith’s Stadium to play Huddersfield in the Championship.

Though they lost 3-2 to Chelsea in the FA Cup coming into this match, the Whites are currently playing excellent league football.

Leeds has won all of its league games in 2024, and they have pulled within six points of leaders Leicester City.

Jamie Shackleton is “definitely out” for this game, according to Daniel Farke, who made this announcement during the pregame news conference.

 

The club has chosen to give the versatile 24-year-old enough rest while he is currently ill. Back spasms are a question for Joe Gelhardt, but there’s a chance he may play against Huddersfield.

Georginio Rutter, who missed the previous game with an injury, trained on Thursday, and he is available for selection. Likewise, Crysencio Summerville and Patrick Bamford have trained as well, and both could be available, which comes as a massive boost for Farke.

Summerville has been in great form this season, but he has missed several training sessions in recent weeks. Farke also confirmed that Ilia Gruev is touch and go at the moment, but there is a chance he could play on Saturday
