It was reported that a different panel denied the clubs’ first request for compensation because they did not believe the clubs had the right to do so, but the clubs may still file a claim.
“When looking at the decision of that commission itself, it still very much opened the door to future claims by those clubs,” Leaf said in an interview with the I on February 4. It even went so far as to state that the commission was “satisfied that the applicant clubs have potential claims for compensation” as long as some of the other legal requirements were met.
49ers and Leeds in another legal battle
Following the initial reports that the Premier League was looking into Everton, it became apparent that Leeds would be one of the teams battling for compensation after the Yorkshire club was demoted due to what was perceived to be an unfair advantage.
In reality, the 49ers have shown that they are prepared to fight for the good of the team in the courts ever since they acquired Leeds in the summer. They filed a second appeal in their £24 million legal struggle against Jean-Kevin Augustin in addition to the ongoing Everton action.
The owners have not shied away from potentially complex legal cases, and now that Everton’s appeal process is under way, they may be faced with another one. However, their legal team may be ready for anything.
Leaf also stated to the i that if Everton receives a second sentence, with Nottingham Forest, Manchester City, and Chelsea also under investigation, the floodgates for any legal claims would be fully opened.

Some of the nation’s larger stadiums have already witnessed this, most notably Tottenham, which has hosted performances by Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, and the Red Hot Chilli Peppers in addition to world-title boxing bouts featuring fighters like Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.
While it’s a humorous notion, having Beyoncé sing at Elland Road would only increase money and have no effect on the club’s business. As such, any step in that direction would make sense.
