Burnley’s star completes medical ahead of Leeds United move
Connor Roberts has moved one step closer to finalising his transfer from Burnley to Leeds United as the transfer deadline approaches.
In order to fill the void left by the departure of Burnley full-back Connor Roberts, Leeds United has agreed to temporarily bring the player to Elland Road. Burnley full-back Connor Roberts had his physical today in preparation for his transfer to Elland Road, and journalist Ben Jacobs explained why this is such a great coup for Daniel Farke as Leeds United completed a hectic end to the current mid-season window.
After taking over as Whites manager in July 2023, Farke had a spectacular summer transfer window at the team, bringing in players of over £30 million in value, including Joel Piroe, Ethan Ampadu, Ilia Gruev, and Glen Kamara.
Leeds secure deal for top target Roberts
The Whites, who are currently fourth in the English second division but are still fighting for promotion back to the Premier League at the first opportunity, had made right-back a priority position due to the early termination of Djed Spence’s loan and the departure of long-term player Luke Ayling to Middlesbrough.

Roberts, who signed a deal at Turf Moor at £30,000 per week at the beginning of the season, has made 16 appearances in all competitions so far this season, however that has only translated into 850 minutes of play. Ben Jacobs – Roberts ‘fits the bill’ for Leeds
Jacobs stated that top target Roberts has now successfully finished his physical and will join the Championship club in due course, claiming that Farke and his recruitment staff have been working relentlessly behind the scenes in the closing stages of the current window. According to the reputable writer, the 28-year-old has been a top target for a few weeks now and feels that he would fit in well at Elland Road. Speaking with, Jacobs said:
“Leeds United have been very busy in the closing few hours the window. Connor Roberts has completed his medical and is about to join from Burnley – a top target that Leeds had wanted for the last couple of weeks of the window. There was a need to bring in a fullback and Roberts fits the bill.”
Farke sets sights on late move for Newcastle’s Paul Dummett
Newcastle United star Paul Dummett has reportedly been courted by the Yorkshire team as a left-back option as well as in the heart of the defence, according to Football Insider, with Roberts seemingly set to arrive and boost the right side of the Leeds defensive. According to the source, high-flying Ipswich Town is also interested in the 32-year-old, who has dropped significantly in the Magpies’ pecking order.
