According to Fabricio Romano, Leeds United and winger Wilfried Gnonto are nearing an agreement on new terms amidst rumours of increased Premier League interest.

Ever since the Whites were demoted from the top division the previous season, there has been conjecture about the 20-year-old. Throughout the previous transfer window, he was linked to a move to Everton, and in August, he submitted a transfer request. But the player and the team worked out a compromise that allowed him to stay at Elland Road for the first half of the season.

The Italian international has been relegated to a supporting role as Daniel Farke’s club struggles to turn things around and secure a spot in the automatic promotion playoffs. Although he did start the FA Cup fourth round match against Plymouth Argyle last weekend, the majority of his 21 Championship games have come off the bench.
