Leigh Bromby, a former Leeds United player, has cautioned the Whites that given their current league position, they cannot afford to chance failing to buy a right-back during the current transfer window.

This month, Leeds allowed Djed Spence and Luke Ayling to depart Elland Road, leaving Daniel Farke without a backup right back.

The Yorkshire team hasn’t added a player to Elland Road during the current transfer window, despite being connected to multiple right-back targets.

As of right now, Leeds’ 17-year-old midfielder, Archie Grey, has been a frequent starter at right back. Bromby questioned whether Farke thought of Grey as the starting right defender.

Bromby believes Leeds cannot take a chance by holding out on buying a specialist right-back during this transfer window, even though he acknowledged that Sam Byram may be considered a starter in an attacking role.

Leeds Live reports that Everton has no intention of allowing Ben Godfrey, a target for Leeds United, to depart during the current transfer window.

Leeds is looking to bolster its defence, although they haven’t signed a player yet this month.

Leeds has been heavily linked to Everton star Godfrey, who was formerly employed by Whites manager Daniel Farke at Norwich City.

 

In the current campaign, the 26-year-old centre back has played just 91 minutes for Everton.
