Fabrizio Romano update surely means 27-year-old Leeds star will stay, after shock reports
The 27-year-old Firpo has been a standout player for Leeds lately, dishing out four assists in the Whites’ last three Championship games. He is in excellent shape and very energetic. However, it appeared that Real Sociedad was drawn to that form.
Today, a story purported that Sociedad was thinking about Firpo. Due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury that Aihen Munoz sustained this month, the high-flying Spanish team needs a new left defender.
In addition to Kieran Tierney, an Arsenal player on loan, Sociedad need another left-wing alternative. Firpo might be the individual they are after, it was said. However, it appears that Sociedad has signed another.
Atletico Madrid defender Javi Galan is scheduled to get a physical at Sociedad, as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano on Twitter on Tuesday afternoon. The defender from Spain will be coming to Atleti right out of loan.

New Fabrizio Romano update surely means Junior Firpo staying
With Firpo’s current configuration, this is a positive thing. His play of late has been outstanding; in fact, former Leeds manager Neil Redfearn said his recent performance against Preston was among his best for the club.
Leeds entered the window with the belief that a new left-back was essential. But is signing another form really necessary since Firpo keeps producing these kinds of forms? Maybe a right-back with dual-position capabilities.
However, Firpo won’t be joining Sociedad until Galan, who was previously connected to a transfer to Leeds during Marcelo Bielsa’s tenure, completes his deal. An agreement will be reached shortly after a medical examination is still underway.
