‘Extraordinary’ – Sky Sports pundit cannot believe what Leeds man did in last-gasp win v Preston

Junior Firpo’s “outstanding” and “brilliant” work resulted in Daniel James’ equaliser for Leeds United against Preston North End, which was praised by Andy Hinchcliffe.

Will Keane’s opening goal from the second minute was cancelled out by Firpo’s cross from the left, which James finished with six minutes remaining, even though Crysencio Summerville overhit the pass to him.

'Outstanding, Brilliant' - Sky pundit wowed by Leeds defender after teammate mistake v Preston

When Hinchcliffe watched the game on January 21 at 12:07 p.m. on Sky Sports as a co-commentator, he was impressed by the full-back.

Hinchcliffe remarked, “His running off the ball is outstanding.” “The cross is really excellent since Summerville overhit the ball.

“Firpo, he’s running out of room, but he stands the ball up and does the right thing.”

Fair play

This season, Firpo has received a good deal of criticism, mostly for his defensive play, but with this assist, he proved his worth.

The former Barcelona star ran brilliantly off the ball and was even more adept at placing it in a spot where James might attack.

James deserves recognition as well because, as all wingers should, he entered from the right to meet the ball coming from the opposite flank.

After three league games—two against Birmingham City, one against Preston, and now one against Cardiff City—Firpo has now tallied four assists.

The 27-year-old is beginning to settle into the position after being handed a run in the starting lineup at left-back, as demonstrated by this assist.

Hoping for more of the same from the guy who is worth £13 million.

Wilfried Gnonto news as late January loan twist emerges at Leeds United

According to Corriere Dello Sport, Wilfried Gnonto, an attacker for Leeds United, may now be able to complete a late loan departure during the January transfer window.

The winger has reportedly been presented to Lazio, who genuinely wants to bolster in that area, according to the newspaper’s print version [January 22, page 16].

Two more English targets rumoured to be moving to Italy this month are Oscar Bobb of Manchester City and Bryan Gil of Tottenham.

Gnonto was brought up to Lazio for the first time in November, and he reportedly wants to depart again, having attempted to do so during the summer transfer window.

Convenient.

The transfer whispers took up steam once more, just as Gnonto seemed to sustain an injury that prevented him from playing in the team’s 2-1 victory over Preston on January 21.

Although Daniel Farke made it apparent in his letter that it was only an injury, it is not surprising that these kinds of connections are resurfacing considering his expressed wish to quit the team during the summer.

Would a loan exit suit both Gnonto and Leeds?

After the summer’s drama, the Whites would be foolish to just let the Italian go on loan. The Italian wants to play in the top division to try to maintain his place in the senior international team.

Given how hard they battled to keep Gnonto back then, it is difficult to see Farke and the 49ers backing down today. Instead, they were forced to clean up the mess left by prior contracts and owners with several loan exits.

Gnonto needs to pull up his socks and assist Leeds in achieving their goals, which is just what Georginio Rutter, Dan James, and Crysencio Summerville are doing if he wants to play Premier League football.

A loan exit that is delayed? Definitely not a chance
