According to Joe Donnohue, a FIFA restriction preventing Sonny Perkins from leaving Elland Road will prevent him from going out on loan again this season. Perkins plays forward for Leeds United.
The club announced on January 3 that the Whites have chosen to recall the teenage striker from Oxford United and end his loan agreement.
Journalist Donnohue of the Yorkshire Evening Post announced on his personal Twitter account on January 3rd that the 19-year-old striker will not be returning to the field after already representing Oxford and Leeds United. According to FIFA regulations, a player is not permitted to play for three clubs in a single season.
Donnohue posted: “Leeds United forward Sonny Perkins has been recalled from his loan spell at Oxford United. 19 y/o will not go back out having represented Leeds United and Oxford during the first half of the season.
“FIFA rules stipulate a player cannot play for three teams in the same season.”

The Whites feel that Perkins’ development will be better served at Elland Road. Perkins made just five appearances and scored one goal for the League One team, and he failed to make an impression there. His limited playing time—he played just five minutes of league football—indicates a lack of impact and adaptation to the demands of senior football.
Although Perkins scored in the EFL Trophy match against Chelsea Under-21s, he has not demonstrated that he can consistently find the back of the net. The loan at Oxford United was meant to provide him the necessary game-tuning and growth.
Now that Perkins has been called back, Leeds needs to put more effort into finding him a better loan location where he can get useful experience and regular playing time.
Since it is obvious that Daniel Farke will not employ him in the starting lineup, a successful loan period will be critical to his development as it will allow him to hone his skills and adjust to the competitive atmosphere of professional football.

On Twitter, Prime Minister Rishi Sunak congratulated Humphries. The newly crowned world champion replied by thanking everyone who had supported his journey thus far. But Humphries removed his post soon after it was published.
