Directors box could not believe Leeds United star Patrick Bamford at Elland Road

Phil Hay asserts that during Leeds United’s 3-2 victory over Middlesbrough, Patrick Bamford’s fashion statement of bleach-blonde hair stunned many in the directors’ box.

Gasps were audible across the stadium last month in response to Bamford’s move, as the journalist for The Athletic wrote on January 2.

While many were wondering and expecting for Bamford to make a statement on the pitch rather than off it, on January 1st against Birmingham, he made just that.

Now is the time to establish yourself

This season, Bamford had made 16 appearances in the Championship without scoring a goal until the Birmingham triumph. The only significant thing he’d done for Leeds this campaign was to leave Elland Road directors stunned by his hairdo.

The bleach-blonde hair has certainly drawn attention since Bamford made that decision, but now that the Englishman has finally scored his first goal of the year in the 3-0 triumph, he will be hoping that his performances will do the talking. Not only did the goal elevate his play, but he also appeared to be a more dependable player at the front of the Elland Road line. His recent surge in confidence is evident from the fact that three of his five shots were on target, one was blocked, and one struck the woodwork.

A potential revival for Bamford won’t have been on many people’s list of ambitions for the new year, but nobody will Few people will have been hoping for a possible Bamford comeback in the new year, but if his increased self-assurance helps propel Leeds to the Premier League, then nobody will be grumbling.

‘Really clever’ – Leeds United man salutes sensational star and reveals pre-match message to striker

Dan James, a winger for Leeds United, has praised his offensive partner and teammate Patrick Bamford for his contribution to the Whites’ 3-0 New Year’s Day triumph over Wayne Rooney’s Birmingham City.

In the three-goal victory over the Blues, the Welshman scored Leeds’ second goal of the game, bringing his season total to eight goals. However, it was Bamford, making his first start of 2023–24, who stole the show with his first goal of the year.

With Joel Piroe and Georginio Rutter in excellent form for the most of the season, the seasoned forward was forced to settle for a bench role. However, after United’s two previous games ended in back-to-back losses, Daniel Farke made the decision to

to use Bamford as the No. 9 and Rutter as the backup. It paid off halfway through the first half when the 30-year-old nodded in James’ accurate cross from within the six-yard box.

“I thought Pat up top was awesome today,” James said after the game to LUTV. “I told him before the game that I would love to get him a goal today, and happily I did. It was fantastic. It greatly boosts his self-assurance.”

After Bamford scored the game’s first goal, Leeds players surrounded him, and Elland Road fans enthusiastically performed his signature terrace chant for him.

“like to cross it, I like to put it in that kind of area,” said James. Pat constantly assures me that he will make the run since he is so shrewd with it. Even when they’re playing five at the back, he makes it difficult for them by stretching them and making room for the tens to receive it. Today, Georgi [Rutter] took on a different role, and I felt he was as excellent.

“He was great all over the pitch, it also creates a lot of space for me to get one-v-ones and that’s what we want.”

This season, James has contributed to 13 Championship goals and has eight goals of his own. He has also provided five assists. Finally off the mark, Bamford will be eager to add more in the upcoming weeks if Farke sticks to his modified offensive strategy.
