Report: Tottenham now want to sign Liverpool player with ‘outstanding speed’ after injury news

Tottenham want to sign Liverpool player with ‘outstanding speed’ after Cristian Romero’s injury

Spurs have been linked to signing Joe Gomez, a defender for Liverpool, during the January transfer window, following the news of Cristian Romero’s injury.

In the market next month, the North Londoners are anticipated to be active. Their rear needs to be strengthened, and Gomez has become an unexpected target for the side of Angel Postecoglou.

Tottenham want to sign Joe Gomez from Liverpool

Following the confirmation yesterday that Cristian Romero had sustained an injury and would be sidelined for more than a month, Tottenham were given a severe blow.

Their finest defender is the Argentine. Although he can be careless at times, Tottenham has a much better chance of winning games when he plays.

Tottenham’s situation is made worse by the fact that Micky van de Ven is still out. This means that Ange Postecoglou, who obviously doesn’t like Eric Dier, will have to start Ben Davies and Emerson Royal in a central defensive pairing against Brighton this evening.

Spurs are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool defender Joe Gomez during the January transfer window. Spurs need reinforcements at the back. This information comes from The Daily Mail.

Because of Liverpool’s injuries, the Englishman is still a vital member of their team even though he is by no means Jurgen Klopp’s first option.

The versatile defender is reportedly of great interest to Tottenham, but the Reds are unlikely to entertain any proposals for him in January.

Jurgen Klopp thinks Joe Gomez has ‘outstanding speed’

Joe Gomez is still a very excellent defender, and his versatility makes him a highly appealing choice, even though his worth has declined over the past couple of years.

Gomez has a devoted fan base in Jurgen Klopp. He’s been there for him through thick and thin and has nothing but positive things to say about him.

According to Liverpool’s official website, Klopp made the following statement concerning Gomez back in January 2020: “Joe jumped between right-back and centre-half, which is not perfect when you have no rhythm.” It is not an issue if you are in the right frame of mind, but Joe was having trouble because he was lacking a real rhythm at the time.

However, he is playing as a center-half once more, which is his natural position, therefore his combination with Virg is great. It’s good that he is a sensational football player.”He is a really good challenger; good in one-on-one situations; good football-wise, as I mentioned earlier; he has outstanding speed, which helps us a lot to keep our last line high.” The packaging is quite lovely. That has always been the case: as soon as he picks up the instrument and finds his rhythm once more, everything will work out just fine.
