‘I absolutely love him’… Pundit says Leeds have a player who you can always rely on
Speaking on Leeds’ official YouTube channel, Michael Bridges gave Cooper extra credit after he was left off of the starting lineup for Wednesday’s match against Swansea.
Although it’s unfortunate that Cooper left the team, Bridges called Cooper Leeds’ own Mr Reliable and expressed his undying love for him both on and off the pitch.
Cooper is Mr Reliable
Bridges gave his assessment of the team captain.
“The balance has been tremendous and if Daniel Farke has the chance to put that partnership back together, our captain, unfortunately, Liam Cooper, Mr Reliable, I absolutely love him on and off the pitch, but we know for a fact that Pascal will do a great job,” Bridges said.
Gives his all
Though he might not be Leeds’ best player, Cooper is a very reliable player who gives it his all every time he takes the pitch.
Undoubtedly, Cooper remains the team leader in Leeds, and even though his name might not be the first on Daniel Farke’s roster, he is unquestionably his most trusted lieutenant in the locker room.
Cooper has been with the team for nine years and is almost a club legend. If he gets promoted this season, it would solidify his place among Leeds’ real modern greats. Cooper is from Scotland.

What has Farke said about transfers?
When asked about transfers in the upcoming January window, Farke responded as follows (via the YEP) during his pre-Swansea press conference on Tuesday:
“Yes. I think the task with Nick (Hammond)and Greta (Steinsson), to prepare the long-term picture and not just January. We have to think to next season and even further ahead. It’s important for me to concentrate on the daily work and the short-term success.
“I have to focus on the next game, and to make sure the next training session is at the top level. It’s important for me to have people I can trust to work in the background. They work a lot on it and we chat, but my main focus is still the here and now, and I am grateful to have people to work on the mid and long-term future.”
When it came to his response to the announcement that Hammond will remain with the team until the end of the summer of 2024 as a transfer consultant, Farke was all praise:
“He is brilliant. He is key to our success in the recent months by gaining more stability for this club. I have great support with Angus and Nick. Unbelievable support.
“Nick, with his experience and network, his quality and how he handles things in different circumstances. We spoke a lot about the contractual situations in the summer, and he used his quality and experience, but also his personality is fantastic, and he is fully committed to our club. It’s a perfect decision to keep him here for longer.
“It’s a joy to work with him on a daily basis. We don’t have a very big group with a lot of people to discuss, but we know each other from day-to-day more, and I’m pretty pleased with this group and how much support we have. But many applause go to Nick, and it’s fantastic to have him around.”

Great news for Leeds
As Farke emphasises here, Hammond’s decision to stay on after concluding his summer work can only be positive.
Our squad has been significantly strengthened by the combination of youthful additions and experienced signings that we made.
Farke was quite evasive when it came to his desire to go overboard in January with several new hires, which is acceptable, but these remarks show that we’re in good hands with individuals in the hierarchy who have a strategy that makes a lot of sense both in the short and long term.
Even though we might not spend all of the money in January, the team is prepared to make the right signings when the opportunity presents itself, and the 49ers will help bring them in.
