Sinisterra explains desperation for Leeds exit
Sinisterra has now broken his silence on the summer’s events, revealing that he always wanted to return to the Premier League, regardless of Leeds’ desire to retain him. He added that he had other options outside of England, but that the Premier League was always his ambition, which is why he chose to move to Leeds last year. “It was really tough at Leeds, from the start, because they were really trying to keep me, but I wanted to go to the Premier League and that’s what I wanted to do. It’s sad that we ended up in the Championship, but it’s a great team with great people. I had a great time there and so did my family. That’s why I left.”
Sinisterra’s agreement to sign for Bournemouth does not include an option to purchase the player should Leeds not be promoted, which is a prudent business decision. Leeds would receive a substantial sum of money from his sale, which would be beneficial to the club’s profits and sustainability policy in the Championship. However, if Leeds do ascend to the top tier, they may be able to either sell him for a higher price or retain a player who is already considered to be of a Premier League standard. It remains to be seen whether Leeds supporters would be receptive to the return of Sinisterra, or any of the loan players.
