A “well-placed source” for the journalist Pete O’Rourke has provided an intriguing update on David Moyes’ transfer intentions for West Ham United manager Jesse Lingard.

Who just signed for West Ham?

This summer, the Irons signed Mohammed Kudus, Edson Alvarez, James Ward-Prowse, and Konstantinos Mavropanos with the aid of new technical director Tim Steidten.

According to the reporter, Moyes and company are now in competition with two Turkish teams for the former Manchester United star, so if West Ham wants to sign him, they must submit a formal offer shortly.

That comes from a “well-placed source” who said that Galatasaray and Fenerbahce are likely destinations for players if West Ham doesn’t make a move.

What happened to Jesse Lingard?

The former Nottingham Forest star, who scored nine goals and provided five assists in 16 games for West Ham, hasn’t been able to replicate his scorching 20/21 form there.

Since then, Lingard has had to put up with being an afterthought at both Man United and Forest, which may be why he is still available for hiring.

But if the player can repeat the stellar performances he put on when on loan at West Ham two years ago, they might be able to sign a “sensational” free agent.

“He (Lingard) looked like someone going nowhere but he’s been sensational at West Ham,” Nigel Winterburn told The Sun in the summer of 2021.

Winterburn told The Sun, “I think there’s a conversation to be had at Man Utd as to whether he’d fit back into their plans.”If not, I’m not sure why he would want to sign with another club given his success at West Ham.
