Tottenham are going to push to sign £30m striker in the next few days
Tottenham set to accelerate Liam Delap talks
Jones claims that Tottenham has spoken with Liam Delap about a possible deal and plans to move the negotiations forward more quickly in the days ahead.
Although Manchester United has been connected to Delap, Spurs are now trying to outbid them and complete the deal for the £30 million player.
Liam Delap is United’s other main target, but that is still up in the air. Given that Everton, Chelsea, and now Tottenham are all very much in the running, he is carefully considering his next course of action. Spurs expect to expedite negotiations this week after making initial contact,” Jones reported.
Liam Delap compared to Dominic Solanke
Liam Delap has the potential to push Dominic Solanke aside, who joined Tottenham as the club’s record signing last summer.
Without a doubt, Delap would have a strong argument for starting if he joined Spurs, and he wants to play in the first team next season.
In terms of statistics, Delap has outperformed Solanke thus far this season.
| Liam Delap | Dominic Solanke | |
| 37 | Games | 27 |
| 12 | Goals | 9 |
| 2 | Assists | 3 |
Naturally, this is only one season, but Solanke has also only had one genuinely outstanding Premier League season.
It’s intriguing to learn that Tottenham is working hard to close these kinds of deals. After all, Ange Postecoglou’s future is still up in the air, and they have no idea who will be their manager for the upcoming campaign, much less whether they would want to recruit a player like Delap.
