Tottenham are going to push to sign £30m striker in the next few days

In 2012, the regulations were significantly harsher; Europa League champions did not even qualify for the Champions League, a provision that was adopted in 2014. In contrast, both Spurs and Chelsea would be in the Champions League the following season if similar scenario occurred now.
Because of these regulations, Harry Redknapp would ultimately lose his job in the summer of 2012; yet, thirteen years later, Ange Postecoglou might be able to keep his job due to a change in UEFA regulations that have taken place since Redknapp’s dismissal.
Even though one manager had Spurs in fourth place and the other had Tottenham in seventeenth, Redknapp was fired for no other reason than the way the rules operate, while Postecoglou is being hailed as a hero.
The other UEFA rule change that benefitted Tottenham
Tottenham has benefited from more than just the Champions League qualifying system under UEFA.
