In Robert Snodgrass, the other one may be a little more unexpected.

“I have to dig deep into my archives because I didn’t referee them very often,” Clattenburg told Leeds United News. It was challenging to referee players like Alan Smith and Robert Snodgrass. Smith could be nasty when he went into tackles, and Snodgrass was constantly arguing.

Clattenburg refereed 11 Leeds United games during his career, during which the Whites won three, drew three, and lost five. Clattenburg also issued 15 yellow cards and one red card.

The first and last Leeds United games that Mark Clattenburg refereed

The first of Clattenburg’s 11 Leeds United games was a League Cup match between Leeds United and Swindon Town in September 2003, which the Whites ultimately won 6-5 on penalties.

Eleven years later, in the 2014–15 Championship season, he presided over his final Leeds match, which ended in a 1–1 draw at Carrow Road between Leeds and Norwich City. Souleymane Doukara scored for Darko Milanic’s Leeds team in that match.
