Keith Wyness, the former head of Everton, has stated that Leeds United won’t be making any “big money” summer additions.

The 66-year-old, who ran a football consultancy advising elite clubs after serving as CEO at Goodison Park from 2004 to 2009, stated Daniel Farke will instead bring “proven Championship players” to Elland Road in an effort to guarantee promotion in an interview with Football Insider’s Inside Track podcast.

Following their defeat to Southampton in the play-off final last month, Leeds will have to endure another season in the second division.

Subsequently, Chairman Paraag Marathe issued a warning, stating that big player sales are anticipated and that “sacrifices will have to be made” this summer to ensure the club can comply with financial rules.

Farke will remain in his post as manager despite Leeds missing out on promotion back to the Premier League at the first time of asking.
