“I am not satisfied” – Unhappy Tottenham player says Ange ‘must explain why’ he’s not being picked
Ange Postecoglou is the only person who can explain why Pierre-Emile Højbjerg of Tottenham Hotspur hasn’t played much this season, according to Tipsbladet.
The midfielder, who signed with Spurs in 2020, was a regular until the end of the previous campaign. The 28-year-old has not benefited from the former Celtic manager’s appointment as he has declined in stature at the North London team.
The Danish international, who has only made six league starts for Tottenham this season, has played in 30 games for a total of fewer than 1,200 minutes.
Højbjerg’s position in the national team squad remains unaffected by his circumstances at the Premier League team, as he has been called up for each of the four international breaks this season.
He made his 75th appearance for Denmark on Tuesday against the Faroe Islands. Press representatives from Denmark after the match.
He remarked of his Tottenham circumstances, “Of course I’m not happy with what’s going on at the club.” It’s not a secret, but I also don’t really talk much about it.
I can rest my head on the pillow, confident that I’m giving it everything I’ve got to prove to the coach that he should have faith in me. The coach needs to provide an explanation for why this isn’t the situation right now.
Prior to Tottenham’s Premier League match against Luton Town on Saturday, and in light of these remarks, Postecoglou might be questioned about Højbjerg’s circumstances.

Alejo Veliz, who was on loan from Tottenham to Sevilla in January, hasn’t played much since. According to AS, Spurs are upset by the Spanish team’s treatment of their player.
Veliz, 20, travelled from Rosario Central in his native Argentina to North London last summer, but he was unable to secure consistent playing time as Tottenham attempted to qualify for the Champions League. His few late Premier League appearances in the first half of the season amounted to just 42 minutes.
Most importantly, he played 20 minutes during the 4-2 loss to Brighton at the Amex Stadium and scored a consolation goal, his first and thus far only goal as a Spurs player.
To aid the young striker’s development, the decision was made to send him out on loan, with Sevilla an obliging party.
No faith in youth from Quique Sanchez Flores
When he first recovered from a knee injury, the La Liga team’s manager, Quique Sanchez Flores, expressed optimism about his chances, saying: “He does what we ask of him.” Once more, he is a boy who will clearly define what the squad needs.
But the head coach has shown no less reluctance to give Veliz game time, allowing the forward to play just 23 minutes since coming to Spain.
More recently, Flores made noticeably less encouraging remarks prior to the 2-1 home loss to Celta Vigo, in which Veliz was left off of the roster: Alejo has occasionally left us feeling fantastic and other times not so well.
He has fierce competition, and Alejo is aware—as are you and I—that he has two really fit forwards and that there are additional, less talented, forwards on the way. Consequently, he is aware that in order to take advantage of additional opportunities, he must alter the rhythm of his feelings.

Flores’ handling of Veliz is similar to his handling of Hannibal Mejbri, a Manchester United loanee, in another Premier League. Compared to Veliz’s three league appearances, the Tunisian midfielder has only made four.
