West Ham star causes a stir by criticising manager

Edson Alvarez, who has been a vital member of West Ham United’s team this season, is currently away representing Mexico internationally.Edson Alvarez, a star for West Ham, will play Panama in the CONCACAF semifinals and might play the USA or Jamaica in the championship game.

It’s not ideal for us that the 26-year-old will be travelling 10,000 miles round trip to and from the United States of America over the course of the next five or six days.

West Ham star Edson Alvarez causes a stir by criticising manager

He is suspended for three of our next four Premier League and Europa League games, so the travel shouldn’t have a significant impact on him.

We must give credit to Tim Steidten, David Moyes, and the club’s owners for bringing Alvarez to the London Stadium.

West Ham star Edson Alvarez criticises manager

Declan Rice’s departure has been more than made up for by him, and he is vital to everything our team does well.

Alvarez made it apparent to reporters that he had a grudge against them during his remarks in Dallas, albeit it appears that he has one right now.

West Ham star Edson Alvarez criticises manager

The former Ajax player is presently practicing with the Mexico national team in Dallas ahead of their match against Panama.

Under Jaime Lozano, the new manager of Mexico, he appears to be quite content, but the same cannot be said for Geraldo Martino, his former coach.

Alvarez, cited by AS, emphasised how he felt humiliated by the Argentinian while they were in Qatar sixteen months ago.

At the World Cup, I didn’t feel like an undisputed starter, but I felt like I had a good chance of playingIn the match against Poland the relationship was the same as always. The game against Argentina arrives and it’s like I was a stranger, as if I had never seen myself play, I didn’t start and I didn’t play.”

Alvarez continued, nevertheless, by expressing his gratitude for playing for Martino:

“I’m grateful, at some point I had a great relationship with him. A relationship in which he would come with me, we chatted, we shared ideas. He’s a person who really likes to talk about football and was very interested in the Ajax system, we shared many things.”

His remarks will have created quite a commotion in his native country, where I assume the bulk of Mexican supporters will be rooting for the Hammers midfield player.

Alvarez started Mexico’s opening World Cup match in 2022 against Poland in Qatar. However, he was benched for the match against Argentina.

To be fair, Alvarez has every right to wonder why Martino would not include him on the starting lineup for the match against the eventual World Cup winners.

He is among, if not the finest, players in Mexico.

We will truly miss Edson Alvarez for our next two Premier League games as well as our matchup with Bayer Leverkusen in the Europa League. Fortunately, Alvarez is aware of how essential he is to West Ham.
