Injury blows threaten promotion ambition: Leeds blow as Farke set to lose another key player for 2 weeks in new announcement

Leeds United: Daniel Farke to lose Junior Firpo for two weeks as announcement made

Due to a development concerning Junior Firpo, Daniel Farke is expected to lose another important player of his squad for two weeks during the international break.

On Monday, March 11, the Dominican Republic declared that Firpo, who had recently changed his international allegiance, had been called up for the first time.

Firpo had previously played at several levels for Spain, where he moved at an early age, all the way up to the Under-21s.

Junior Firpo switches international allegiance to Dominican Republic

The full-back will now have the opportunity to do so, though, having previously stated he would be willing to represent his own nation.

The story was verified on March 11 by the Dominican Republic’s Twitter feed, which featured a video of Firpo clutching the national football jersey.

Firpo’s call-up has put him in the mix to play in the Dominican Republic’s next friendlies against Peru and Aruba.

It is not ideal that a crucial player will be going across the globe, even though it will be perceived as a type of acknowledgement of Firpo’s form in a Leeds shirt.

Because so many players are leaving for their international careers, Farke will already be watching the March matches with one hand covering his face.

March international break could be troublesome for Leeds United

When a player is playing for the club, the German can keep a close eye on their fitness levels; when they are playing for their respective countries, this is not the case.

Additionally, it implies that Farke will have a reduced roster to work with during the upcoming two-week vacation, which starts next Tuesday.Joe Rodon in a Leeds United kit.

Joe Rodon, on loan at Elland Road from Tottenham, is another of those who will head off next week.

Given Leeds’ sizable international student population, this may not exactly be a novel scenario for the university, but the list keeps growing.

Leeds was chosen for the Friday night time slot on March 29, which implies that each person leaving will have a very short turnaround.

All Leeds supporters and Farke can do is cross their fingers and hope that every one of those players returns healthy and ready to compete in the final push for promotion.
