Following a catastrophic conclusion to the previous season, the Eagles unveiled their entire coaching staff for the 2024 campaign on Friday. There were several changes.

There were a lot of new details unveiled on Friday, even though we were already aware of many of the personnel changes Nick Sirianni would be making, such as the addition of Vic Fangio and Kelen Moore as coordinators. A few attacking coaches are still in place, despite the defence being virtually entirely overhauled.

Here is a comprehensive look at the coaching staff for 2024:

Notes:

• Following the departures of Shane Steichen and Jonathan Gannon in 2023, the Eagles hired Sean Desai and promoted Brian Johnson, leaving them with inexperienced coordinators. Both have now been replaced by men who have previously held coordinating posts. As a DC and HC, Fangio in particular has a wealth of experience.

•Nussmeier, who joined Moore as part of a package deal after working with him in Dallas and Los Angeles, is the lone new position coach on offence. Jalen Hurts and the quarterbacks will be coached by him. He has already collaborated with Justin Herbert and Dak Prescott.

• As for defence, Parker, Hurtt, Kasper, and King were already well known to us. Hurtt was the DC, and Anderson worked under him as the defensive backs coach in Seattle during the previous season. Anderson spent a few seasons at Minnesota and LSU before to his most recent season in Seattle. From 2012 to 2015, he was the Colts’ safeties coach. Former Seahawks passing game coordinator Karl Scott was reportedly interested in this role, but he decided to stay in Seattle, and Anderson was hired by the Eagles in his place.

• It is important to note that this year’s secondary has a somewhat different structure. Under Fangio in Denver, Parker worked as a DBs coach and passing game coordinator for the Eagles. Below him are two position coaches. Unlike under Desai’s leadership the previous season, there is no designated nickels coach.

Notes:

· The amount of the offensive staff that is sticking together is noteworthy. Johnson, Marcus Brady, Roy Istvan, and Alex Tanney are the only coaches who left that side of the ball. Patullo, Stoutland, Singleton, Michael, and Moorehead were retained by the Eagles. So, Moore is the play-caller and the majority of Sirianni’s offensive staff, but with a different system.

• Washburn, who will once again teach the overhang players, is the only significant position coach who was retained on defence. In 2022, Washburn assumed the position. The Eagles have been quite complimentary of him as a coach due to his aptitude as a teacher and his background in player personnel.

• No surprise to see the Eagles run it back with their three coaches on special teams. That was the one area of the team in 2023 that wasn’t a disappointment. Clay has even gotten a contract extension since the end of the season.

Notes:

• Williams will take over as assistant linebackers coach in 2023 after serving as the Eagles’ nickels coach the previous season. It seems that the Eagles were willing to make room for him as a coach. The resident of Chester, Pennsylvania, stays put.

Paganetti, who will succeed Istvan, is about to begin his tenth season with the Eagles. He’s held a plethora of titles over those seasons.

Scudder is currently on his fourth Eagles season. After joining the Eagles as an assistant coach, he served as the linebackers coach’s assistant last season.

• Yelk, who was previously the head coach’s assistant, is currently the head coach for quality control. Coached at Idaho, Temple, Northern Illinois, South Dakota, and other places in the past.
