Alan Hutton gutted by latest injury to Leeds United star
It has been revealed that Leeds United’s “technically gifted” player will miss the forthcoming match against current Championship leaders Leicester City due to yet another injury, posing a “massive problem” for the club. At an important juncture in the season, Leeds has suffered another setback due to an injury to one of their main players.
Leeds chasing down promotion
Leeds, who were relegated from the Premier League the previous season, are hoping to immediately return to the top division, but they are up against one of the best chasing packs in the history of the second division.
Although Daniel Farke’s team has only lost six games this season and has the best defensive record in the league, they still have a long way to go before they can guarantee themselves a spot in the promotion playoffs come May. Their next opponent is Leicester City, who have swept all before them this year.
Leeds, in second place, are probably looking down rather than up right now. With 13 games remaining, they are nine points behind Friday’s opponents but tied with Ipswich for third place and only two points ahead of Southampton for fourth in what is expected to be a close finish to the campaign.

With one of the four top teams in England’s second division assured to still be there come the start of the following season, a loss could see them fall out of the automatic promotion spots over the weekend and force them to consider the play-off lottery. A victory over Leicester would give them some breathing room.

Bamford out of Leicester clash
Injury has interrupted the Elland Road team’s preparation for their matchup with the Foxes at the top of the table, and key player Patrick Bamford will likely have to miss the home game against the league leaders.
Although injuries have destroyed Bamford’s recent career, he was once regarded as one of the brightest prospects in English football. This season, the 30-year-old has managed just six Championship starts, with his first coming on New Year’s Day.
However, in the subsequent games, he has improved, contributing four goals and an assist to support Leeds in their lengthy winning streak. This has given rise to speculation that Birmingham is among several Leeds players in the running for a new contract.
Alan Hutton, a former defender for Tottenham and Rangers, has now voiced his opinion. The BBC analyst criticises Bamford’s apparent propensity for injuries while still expecting him to bounce back from this latest setback.
“It’s been a huge issue for him,” Hutton said to the press.
“Injuries have been a huge issue for Bamford through the years and it’s not ideal for him considering his form. But there’s nothing he can do about it. He can’t tell when he’s going to get injured and it’s just a real shame for him. We all know he can be an outstanding football player and has been recently.”

Thankfully, Bamford’s injury appears to be less severe this time around, as Leeds manager Farke stated that the striker will “definitely” be ready for the FA Cup fifth-round match against Chelsea in one week.
