Leeds is ablaze. Farke and the Leeds players would have been ecstatic. But none more so than discovering Southampton’s unbeaten streak had come to an end upon returning to the dressing room and losing 3-1.

Then, what a fantastic night for Leeds. When questioned about Southampton’s loss at Ashton Gate, Leeds manager Farke said in his post-match press conference that he was focused on our outcome, according to Leeds Live.

“No,” Farke said, when asked if Southampton’s loss could be pivotal. “The win for us is important. It’s just about us and what we do. Our tally – you need special wins to finish in the top positions,” he said.

Need top average to get into the top two. Playing the best season in points in the history of this club. Very hard summer and the players deserve all the praise. Tight together at the moment,” Farke added

Sky Sports host lauds ‘Incredible’ Willy Gnonto after what he did in Leeds United win v Swansea City

Wilfried Gnonto has been lauded as “incredible” for his movement in the build-up to his goal in Leeds United’s 4-0 win over Swansea by Sam Parkin.

Within ten minutes of Crysencio Summerville’s deflected opener, the Italian international assisted Joel Piroe to make it 2-0. Just before halftime, he added a wonderful goal of his own to make it 3-0.

And in response to the goal, Parkin stated that despite the challenging finish that followed, the movement was what made the goal while providing commentary for Sky Sports Arena on February 13, 20:22.

“The movement is amazing,” he remarked.

The Whites dominated the second half, scoring a second goal after a brilliant counterattack by Gnonto as they easily won.

Wilfried Gnonto resurrection at Leeds United is perfect timing

It appeared inevitable at the beginning of the season that Gnonto would play football somewhere else than Elland Road.

Then, as the season went on and Daniel James started to play well, it didn’t seem like a huge deal if Gnonto left, provided the correct offer was made to replace him.

But ever since it was revealed that Gnonto was on the verge of signing a new deal and James suffered an unfortunate injury, the player has flourished and is proving to Leeds’ supporters and management why they were so anxious to hang onto him in the summer.

He appears to be much more assured than he has been all season, and his skill in the closing third and in front of goal is beginning to show, enabling him to be a member of one of the Championship’s most potent assaults.

Having depth and choices is ideal for Daniel Farke as we enter a busy stretch of the season, but if he can maintain this form, there’s no reason he shouldn’t keep his spot in the team when James returns to full fitness.
