49ers and Leeds ready to sell “intelligent” £90,00-a-week player this summer
Leeds United had a very quiet January transfer window which merely saw Connor Roberts arrive on loan, but whispers have already started flying regarding summer intentions. After selling Luis Sinisterra to Bournemouth, it appears Elland Road’s owners are prepared to carry on their merciless streak by offloading another player this summer. There might be more revenue for the Yorkshire club.
Leeds United transfer news
Wilfried Gnonto is one player who has not yet been let go by Leeds. The winger allegedly submitted a transfer request to Everton of the Premier League during the summer transfer window, but the move was not successful.
Jackson Harrison, though, was one guy who did make a move in the summer. Unlike Gnonto, the winger was able to end his loan at Everton and now he might end his stay permanently, confirming Phil Hay’s earlier belief that the Whites could approve Harrison’s exit.

Leeds missed out on an “amazing” Firpo replacement in January
During the transfer window, Leeds United had the opportunity to upgrade on Junior Firpo.
The 49ers and Leeds are prepared to trade Harrison this season, with offers from the Premier League and throughout Europe anticipated, according to Pete O’Rourke of Football Insider. This is true whether or not Harrison receives Championship promotion. Everton, the winger’s current loan team, is allegedly eager to make the deal permanent, but given their current state of insecurity in the top division, any agreement could be called into question.
Harrison might yet rejoin the team if Leeds improve, but it seems likely that the Whites will profit if the price is right.
Selling “Intelligent” Harrison could be a mistake
While Leeds fight in the Championship for promotion, Harrison has been showcasing his Premier League abilities at Everton. The winger took up where he left off for a struggling Leeds club in the previous season and has rapidly established himself as a key member of Sean Dyche’s squad. However, Harrison’s statistics indicate that he is a player the Whites should look to rely on rather than sell, even if doing so would mean paying his rumoured £90k weekly salary. This is especially true if the team manages to secure promotion to the top flight.

Former Leeds manager Jesse Marsch was undoubtedly an admirer of the 27-year-old, previously saying:
“I feel like Jack is becoming a really solid, clear, intelligent, intensive player for us.
“So you know, obviously, we want to keep developing him and keep pushing him but I’ve been really happy with the progress that he’s made over the last month and I think if he can continue to understand tactically and understand the mentality of the way we want to play, that he can get better and better and better. So yeah, and then I think again, all the players ahead of the ball will be able to put together more more dangerous actions and find more goals.”
