Leeds set to accept £20m+ transfer within days – report

Leeds United transfer news: £21million-plus Luis Sinisterra deal now in the works amid Bournemouth talks as timeframe emerges

According to Graham Smyth, negotiations between Leeds United and Bournemouth regarding Luis Sinisterra’s departure are ongoing. The agreement is probably going to extend past the transfer deadline.

Since the Colombian is already on loan at the Vitality Stadium, the deal doesn’t need to be completed by Deadline Day, according to a story published on the paper’s website by a reporter for the Yorkshire Evening Post on February 1.
A move that might now be finalised “over the course of the next week” is anticipated to cost more than £20 million.

Leeds set to accept £20m+ transfer within days - report

Although it was only scheduled to become active in the event that Leeds United was not promoted to the Premier League, he already had a permanent option in his loan agreement.

After the summer window closed, Sinisterra moved to the Cherries in a two-way deal that saw Jaidon Anthony come the other way on loan late on the day before the deadline.

On his way

With all of the drama surrounding his initial loan move, it always seemed unlikely that the 24-year-old would be able to return to Elland Road; instead, it appeared more likely that the problem would be resolved by summer.

It might provide Leeds United more room to make an early push for the upcoming transfer window if they can get a sizeable sum that could see them turn a profit after only one season of play.

A push for the automatic promotion berths will be necessary in order for them to receive clarification on the division they are in for the upcoming term.

Given Crysencio Summerville and Dan James’ impressive run in the Championship, Daniel Farke doesn’t seem to be too concerned by the Colombian’s 11th-hour exit earlier in the season.

Due to the fact that this has primarily kept Anthony and Willy Gnonto on the bench, it would appear advantageous to pay a respectable eight-figure sum to a player who may not even be in the club’s plans going forward.

Even though Angus Kinnear tried to justify the summer’s spate of loan moves by stating that better permanent deals would eventually become available, the wave of transfers was extremely unpopular with the fans.

Iraola’s eagerness is unexpected considering that he has only made three Premier League starts for Sinisterra. Still, it seems like this fits into their plan.

Leeds United transfer news: Deadline Day Charlie Cresswell to AC Milan update emerges live on Fabrizio Romano stream

Following an update from Fabrizio Romano and his colleagues, AC Milan put a plan in motion to move for Charlie Cresswell, a defender for Leeds United, ahead of the transfer deadline.

During a live broadcast on February 1st, on the Italian channel Kick, it was revealed that the Serie A powerhouses had considered the 21-year-old as one of their two possible center-back possibilities, with Ligue 1 providing an additional option. However, they are not expected to come to an agreement on Deadline Day.

After being linked to leaving the Championship in January during a dispute with Daniel Farke about playing time, the Englishman has since returned to the team because the Whites were not ready to bolster a rival for promotion.

Romano said (5.23pm): “Milan will not sign anybody, probably.”

Unexpected

After returning off a standout loan spell at Millwall the previous season, Cresswell has had an extremely frustrating season due to Farke’s lack of opportunities.

Given that Milan’s offer would have prevented the highly-regarded young player from ending up in the hands of league rivals, Leeds United would have most likely been pleased to accept it had it been made earlier.

The Whites would have been shorthanded at centre defence if he had departed, especially with Pascal Struijk sidelined due to injury. Since January additions have proven to be so challenging, it seems the manager chose to deal with his unsatisfied defender and reopen the door in the lack of many other options.

The chance for Cresswell to secure a significant transfer to the San Siro is undoubtedly gone as the Italian window closes at 7 p.m. UK time.

His father and he will be quite upset that their chance to join Milan did not materialise if he does not receive further opportunities at Elland Road for the remainder of the season. However, it appears like he will continue at Elland Road until at least the summer.
