Leeds United reject bid for a star player

Journalist Darren Witcoop reports that Leeds United turned down a loan offer for defender Charlie Cresswell last week.

The Elland Road player, 21, has descended in the hierarchy, and it looks like he may be leaving the team this month. But Leeds will not be sending him out on loan; instead, they plan to find a permanent home for him.

The official offers made by Millwall and a few other clubs to recruit Cresswell are far lower than Leeds’s appraisal of the player, according to a recent article by journalist Beren Cross on Leeds Live.

The Whites have made it clear that the player won’t be going on loan from the team in January, according to Witcoop.

“Leeds would prefer to sell Charlie Cresswelll than to lend him out.” rejected Millwall’s loan proposals for the defender last week in order to express their position, Witcoop reported on X.

Interesting situation

Cresswell is a young defender with exceptional talent who came up through the club’s junior system. He hopes to play frequently for the senior team after having a successful loan season the previous year.

Daniel Farke, though, has other ideas. As of right now, Daniel Farke’s top choices are Joe Rodon and Pascal Struijk. As long as Liam Cooper remains a significant player for Leeds, Cresswell will be the team’s fourth-choice defender.

There have been rumours that Cooper might be traded at some point during the upcoming campaign. The Whites would then be wise to retain Cresswell and give him the right training if they believe he is competent enough at this level.

Leeds isn’t in need of a centre defender this month; instead, they want to acquire

However, Leeds will permit Cresswell to depart if a lucrative offer is made by a prospective suitor. However, the young person will not be moving on a loan.
