Tottenham still think their 23-year-old player will come good
When he joined the Spurs from Fulham in 2019, the 23-year-old was one of the hottest properties in English football. However, due to a number of injury concerns and having to switch positions every other week, Sességnon’s time at the team hasn’t exactly clicked.
Although there has been a lot of talk about the left-footer departing Spurs soon, Mike McGrath of Last Word on Spurs claims that the team isn’t quite ready to give up on Sessegnon just yet since they think he still has skills that can be employed.
Spurs still have hope for Sessegnon
What McGrath knows about the former Fulham man was shared.
“With Sessegnon, I told you off-air that there was some French interest, but it didn’t work out. He was incredibly gifted when he started playing adult football at the age of 16. What’s not being stated to me is “what are we going to do with Ryan Sessegnon?” but rather that no one believes his Spurs career is finished. McGrath stated, “I still think that people think there’s skill there to be used.
Has to step up
As encouraging as it is to learn that Sessegnon is still regarded highly by Spurs, he needs to start performing better quickly.
Sessegnon is currently playing for his future because, to put it simply, he hasn’t proven enough at Tottenham and his contract is set to expire in 18 months.
Sessegnon needs to improve if he wants to stay with Spurs for the long run since, regrettably, he hasn’t done enough to merit an extension.
Sessegnon needs to act quickly if he hopes to have any kind of long-term career at Tottenham, even if it is unclear whether he can produce.
