Now that he is scheduled to return to Spurs, transfer specialist Fabrizio Romano claims the player will look to go away in January in order to pursue a regular playing role rather than staying at the team.
Romano shared the update on X:

Recently, AS Roma under Jose Mourinho and Borussia Dortmund both expressed interest in Reguilon.
According to a recent rumour from the Italian publication Il Romanista, Jose Mourinho has reportedly “given his approval” for the team to look into Reguilon to replace Leonardo Spinazzola, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign.
Romano adds that he has received attention from other Premier League clubs to join them. It remains to be seen where he lands in the end.

The Dutchman made the point that the midfielder is not only an important member of Mauricio Pochettino’s team, but he also brings a wealth of leadership qualities to the group.
As an illustration of the Blues’ owners’ stupidity, Carragher has emerged as the most recent commentator to cast doubt on the rationale behind selling Gallagher.
Given all of the harsh feedback from supporters and commentators, one would hope that the Chelsea board would not modify their position on Gallagher. Tottenham might want to try to close a deal as quickly as possible because the 23-year-old might not present itself to them again.
