Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in Al-Ittihad winger Jota this month, according to 90 minutes.
Spurs, who are sure they can agree on a deal for Jota in 90 minutes, have now taken it a step further and hinted that Jota and Ange Postecoglou may get back together during the current transfer window.
According to the publication, the North London club is now optimistic that they can work out a deal with Al-Ittihad to sign the winger for a one-year loan with a view to extend it permanently in the summer. This is based on information received from several sources.
The Portuguese winger is eager to get back to Europe, and the 24-year-old finds a move to the Spurs “extremely appealing.”
Jota may not yet be at the level needed to start for a Premier League team hoping to finish in the top four, but I’m not entirely persuaded of that.
But Postecoglou is familiar with him, and as a squad member, the former Celtic star may be a suitable short-term stand-in. Spurs would not be exposed to any risk under a loan agreement with a buyout option.
