‘Madness’ – Bent and Goldstein share Daniel Farke sack verdict at Leeds live on talkSPORT

Darren Bent and Andy Goldstein share Daniel Farke sack verdict at Leeds United live on talkSPORT

In response to suggestions that Daniel Farke should be fired by Leeds United, Andy Goldstein and Darren Bent have voiced their opinions, calling the suggestions “madness.”

After losing to Preston on Boxing Day, the Whites dropped to fourth place in the Championship. After 24 games, they are now 14 points behind Leicester City at the top of the league and eight points behind Ipswich Town in second place.

Some Leeds supporters have called for the German to be fired at Elland Road following the team’s loss at Deepdale. Carlos Corberan is the preferred successor, but Goldstein and Bent think it would be “madness” to fire Farke.

He made the following statement when speaking on talkSPORT on December 29, 16:40: “I don’t know why, but a lot of Leeds fans have been calling for Daniel Farke to be fired and Carlos Corberan of West Brom to be brought in.” What do you think of that? I believe it’s insane.

“It’s kind of strange that they want him because you look at West Brom too, their form is patchy as well,” Bent retorted. Prior to their most recent victory over Norwich, they had drawn with Stoke and lost to Middlesbrough.

Indeed, they triumphed over Rotherham but suffered defeats against Sunderland and Leicester. Not like he’s uprooting trees or anything. Carlos Corberan is an excellent manager, and I like him, but that surprised me.

Madness

After the Whites’ Boxing Day loss to Preston North End, some Leeds United supporters may be feeling a little bit angry. However, just a few days prior, they were applauding Farke for orchestrating the team’s victory over Ipswich Town.

Teams will constantly experience periods of inconsistent performance in the Championship because it is an extremely competitive league. Although Leeds’ latest loss could not have come at a worse time, it is absurd to hear people calling for Farke to be fired right now.

Though these protests have only come from minuscule portions of the Leeds supporters, it is difficult to believe that Corberan is more qualified than the current Elland Road manager to lead this team to promotion.

There is still plenty of football to be played between now and the end of the Championship campaign, even though Leeds is now trailing the league leaders. Farke is a master at getting teams promoted to the Premier League.

With enough time, Farke can get Leeds back on track, and the loss to Preston will only be a blip on the scoreboard.
