Tottenham make decision on their pursuit of £60 million-rated Premier League star

In recent weeks, there has been talk of Tottenham Hotspur making a deal for Marc Guehi, defender for Crystal Palace.

Although they were anticipated to make a move for the 23-year-old Premier League defender in January, it appears that they have now shifted their strategy in their pursuit of the England international. Due to the high likelihood of the deal falling through, Tottenham is now unlikely to make a play for the defender in January.

Football Insider reports that the central defender is valued at £60 million, and teams such as Manchester United are interested in signing him. They will not, however, meet the requested pricing.

Tottenham is in serious need of a strong centre defence, but the asking price of £60 million sounds high. In order for the deal to proceed, the Eagles will need to lower their demands.

It will be intriguing to watch whether Tottenham decides in January to pursue other goals.

Summertime acquisition Despite being a fantastic addition to the team thus far, Micky van de Ven is unable to play due to an injury.

It would be interesting to watch who Spurs wind up with in the coming weeks as they are in dire need of a good central defence. In the near future, he will want to join a major team, and Manchester United and Tottenham would have been fantastic options for him. He will be hoping that in the upcoming months, his suitors can work out a deal with Crystal Palace.

‘Very good’… Ange Postecoglou so impressed with 23-year-old Tottenham player vs Newcastle United

Dejan Kulusevski has received special recognition from Ange Postecoglou for his performance against Newcastle United today.

In North London, Spurs defeated Newcastle United 4-1 thanks to goals from Richarlison, Son Heung-Min, and Destiny Udogie.

After losing their last five Premier League games, it’s safe to say that Tottenham was in urgent need of a victory.

Following the loss to West Ham earlier in the week, Postecoglou made a few adjustments to his starting lineup on Sunday. Pape Matar Sarr returned to the middle, Richarlison taking up the forward position.

In James Maddison’s absence, Dejan Kulusevski played a pivotal role, and the Swede produced another excellent performance.

Additionally, Postecoglou thinks that this season, the 23-year-old has shown to be a “really effective” alternative for his team.

Postecoglou impressed with Kulusevski display

Postecoglou was asked about his opinions of Kulusevski’s displays in the middle of the park when he spoke with Sky Sports following today’s game.

Yes, it’s very good, the Spurs manager replied. “He’s had to fill a range of roles, which is again a result of our medical experiences.”

He’s always been successful wherever he’s played, and I felt he was very good today.

Kulusevski has started every Premier League game this season and has rapidly established himself as a vital player under Postecoglou.

Spurs have greatly benefited recently from his central play, especially since Maddison was out until the new year.

After several solid performances from the Argentine, it seemed a little cruel to bench Giovani Lo Celso today.

However, with Sarr back, Spurs appeared more balanced in the centre of the park, and Kulusevski’s ability to carry the ball caused Newcastle a lot of problems all afternoon.

It is unclear if Kulusevski will be a more consistent presence in Spurs’ midfield going forward. However, it appears like he is relishing his new position on Postecoglou’s side.
