A much-needed escape
Since moving from Wigan Athletic to the Whites in August 2018, Gelhardt’s career with the team has been extremely uneven. Even though he has made 26 appearances for Leeds’ U23 team and scored 18 goals, his senior career at Elland Road has not been very successful.
The teenage talent was sent out on loan to Sunderland last season, where he made 20 appearances and scored three goals. Leeds was unwanted during their disastrous Premier League campaign.
Since Gelhardt scored for Sunderland in a 4–4 draw with the Tigers the previous season, Hull are well aware of his abilities.

According to Daniel Farke, Djed Spence has experienced a little setback in his recuperation from tonsillitis, which occurred at Leeds, as Phil Hay was informed.

And although though Farke told the media that he would be returning to team training during the next international break, he did have a setback due to a sickness.

There is no pressure on Spence to return right away because both have done a fantastic job in the role in recent weeks, and Farke will feel free to pitch them both there whenever he sees fit.
While having more alternatives is never a bad thing, tonsilitis is never fun. However, he should return after the international break, which will make the team much better and stronger.
It appears to be a match made in heaven because we’ve seen how good Spence can be in this level in the past and how much Farke enjoys attacking full-backs. We hope it won’t take too long now because we can’t wait to see it.
