‘Never in my life’: Matthew Lewis stunned by what Leeds United player did vs Swansea tonight

Georginio Rutter, a star for Leeds United, celebrated by acting as though he was doing a magic trick after we scored our second goal against Swansea City on Wednesday night. Matthew Lewis has explained why.

Leeds defeated struggling Swansea on Wednesday, and Rutter scored his fourth goal for the Whites. Daniel Farke went back to what is currently thought to be his best starting eleven.

Liam Cooper and Sam Byram were replaced on defence by Pascal Struijk and Sam Byram. Apart from that, though, it was the same side that began the fight with Rotherham. Leeds triumphed 3-1 in the end.

Nothing went well in the beginning. For the Welsh team, Jamie Paterson broke the deadlock in under a minute, but Joel Piroe haunted his former team moments later, bringing Leeds back to equality in the fourth minute.

Just before halftime, Rutter gave Leeds the lead by masterfully controlling a long ball forward with a first touch and completing with his left foot. Dan James scored a third, and Rutter received an assist.

Matthew Lewis shares why Georginio Rutter did wand celebration

Two former Swansea players found themselves on the score sheet in a convincing victory for Leeds following a dismal start. For Rutter in particular, who has now assisted on ten goals in the League, it was an outstanding evening.

At the beginning of the week, Rutter spent time with Lewis, who plays Neville Longbottom in Harry Potter and hosts the Leeds United podcast. Photos from their time together appeared on their Instagram stories.

Following Rutter’s goal, Lewis posted a video of the Frenchman sprinting across the dead ball line and waving an imaginary wand at the spectators on Twitter. He claimed to have asked Rutter to carry it out.

Paul Merson loses mind over ‘absolutely unbelievable’ Georginio Rutter in Leeds United v Swansea

Wednesday (November 29) saw Leeds United defeat Swansea City 3-1, and Georginio Rutter’s goal in the first half left Paul Merson speechless.
The 21-year-old forward, who pulled the ball out of the air before putting a cool finish past Swans keeper Carl Rushworth, scored a goal that the pundit said he would compare to Dennis Bergkamp on Sky Sports’ Soccer Special on Wednesday at 8:37 p.m.

He went on to say that the Frenchman had shown “class” and that anything coming over your head is “absolutely unbelievable.”

“I’d go Dennis Bergkamp,” said Merson. “Tom’s right, that is unbelievable. Anything over the top of your head like that, that is absolutely unbelievable. That’s class that is.”

Can’t teach that

To pull Ethan Ampadu’s gorgeous ball over the top out of the air and then apply a strong finish required a remarkable feat of skill from Rutter.

Because it’s such a challenging skill to attempt, it will undoubtedly rank among the Championship’s season goals.

Merson, who is among the most gifted players to have played in the Premier League, only serves to highlight how good it was when he draws comparisons to his former teammate Bergkamp from Arsenal.

This season, the Frenchman has demonstrated his abundance of skill without displaying much of a vicious edge in front of goal. Against the Swans, however, he changed that with a superb touch and finish.

In order to support the Whites’ push for promotion this season, he will now aim to keep improving and become a greater goal threat over the next few weeks.
