Mourinho has ‘specifically requested’ Roma to raid Spurs for their versatile ace

Roma has been tasked by Mourinho to raid Spurs in an attempt to find their all-around player.

AS Roma has expressed interest in acquiring Tottenham defender Eric Dier during the upcoming January transfer window, according to RomaGiallorossa sources.

Jose Mourinho, the former manager of Spurs, trained Dier at N17. He is currently the manager of Roma. It has been claimed that Mourinho has a particular desire to work with Dier again.

Mourinho has “specifically requested” Roma to sign the versatile England player, who can play both defence and midfield, in an effort to increase his defensive alternatives.

Trevoh Chalobah and Malang Sarr, two Chelsea defenders, are reportedly close to being signed by Roma director Pinto, but Mourinho believes the 29-year-old is the best player the club could have.

Chelsea might be affected by the possible transfer as well. According to reports, Chelsea was considering trading Tammy Abraham of Roma for Sarr and Chalobah, but Mourinho’s inclination towards Dier might thwart any such plans.

Additionally, according to the source, Roma attempted to sign Eric Dier during the summer but were unable to reach a contract agreement with Spurs because they were demanding too much money for a player whose contract was expiring in a year.

However, new sources suggest that Roma is once again interested in a move. If a deal could be reached for a price between €4 and €5 million, the London club would view it as a respectable gain rather than losing him for nothing in the summer.

Although it was previously stated that Dier would prefer to remain at Spurs until the end of the season and then leave for free, he might change his mind if he gets to see Mourinho again.

Tottenham are ready to offer Cristian Romero to sign Barcelona winger Raphinha

Tottenham Hotspur is reportedly interested in trading Cristian Romero for Barcelona’s Raphinha, putting them at the centre of possible player transfers.

The possibility of adding Raphinha’s attacking ability is undoubtedly a plus, but the reported trade for Romero makes the cost-benefit analysis of that move uncertain.

Tottenham and manager Ange Postecoglou have clearly taken an interest in Raphinha due to his skill set and the attraction of his Premier League comeback.

Cristian Romero is a vital member of the Tottenham Hotspur team.

However, Tottenham’s unwillingness to accept Barcelona’s asking price for Rapha, together with the valuation of little over £61 million that the Spanish team established, has spurred thoughts of other tactics.

Should we get Raphinha at the cost of Romero?

According to Sport via Express, in an effort to find solutions, the notion of integrating Cristian Romero into the agreement has come up. Romero has developed into a key player in Postecoglou’s revolutionary Spurs makeover quite quickly. The North London club has benefited greatly from the Argentine’s authoritative presence at the back, which has stabilised the defence.

Parting ways with Romero could prove to be an expensive sacrifice, even though Raphinha would certainly strengthen the offensive ranks. Undoubtedly, the 23-year-old defender contributes in ways that go beyond specific games played.

The argument against this alleged transfer is based on the idea that Tottenham, who are going through a rebuilding phase under Postecoglou, ought to prioritise holding onto important players who have assimilated into the manager’s ideology.

The Lilywhites should go for individuals with promise who might have an effect and improve our squad depth and bench strength, rather than going big and signing big names. This would save us from losing important players in order to bring in big names.
