Tottenham reportedly now want ‘unbelievable’ £61m attacker who didn’t want to join while Conte was in charge

Barcelona winger Raphinha is reportedly on Tottenham Hotspur’s radar in an extremely interesting trade.

After Ange Postecoglou took over, Spurs underwent a metamorphosis that saw them dominate the Premier League standings for the majority of the first part of the season.

Their performance may have provided Spurs with the foundation to bring in some very intriguing players during the January transfer window. Raphinha is one player Tottenham wants, according to Football Transfers.

Tottenham now eyeing Barcelona winger Raphinha

It has been an interesting experience for Raphinha to be in Catalonia. Across all competitions, he has 12 goals and 15 assists. Additionally, he has produced some impressive performances.

He may not have lived up to Barca’s expectations of him being a superstar, though. And with that, Football Transfers stated that his asking price is £61.35 million (€70 million).

Since joining La Liga, his reputation has undoubtedly not diminished. And knowing that Tottenham was among the teams interested in the winger prior to his departure from Leeds in 2022, that may help to explain their interest.

Winger previously put off Spurs move by Antonio Conte

Spurs were rumoured to have made a player-plus-cash offer for Raphinha, according to an earlier report from The Athletic. The offer was turned down, though.

Raphinha was said to have had second thoughts about joining Tottenham under Antonio Conte’s leadership at Elland Road.

This was because there was a worry that Raphinha would be viewed as a wing-back by the Italian. Naturally, in Conte’s systems, the wing-backs are thought to be especially important.

But suddenly, a lot has changed at Tottenham. Furthermore, you would believe that Raphinha would have the opportunity to establish himself as a vital player as a winger if he joined with Ange Postecoglou.

Thus far, Dejan Kulusevski has performed well. However, there is a spot in that forward line for someone to join in January and rapidly establish themselves as Postecoglou’s go-to person.

Raphinha is of a “unbelievable” calibre. Thus, for Tottenham, making a deal seems like a no-brainer if it is feasible.

If Conte had stayed in charge, they might not have had this chance at all.
