‘Question marks’: BBC pundit says he’s got real doubts about £17m Tottenham regular

Mark Schwarzer continues to harbor reservations about Guglielmo Vicario at Tottenham Hotspur, despite the player’s relatively strong start to the season.Schwarzer stated that he was still not convinced about Victoriano during an interview with “Mark and Phil’s Derby Adventures” podcast.

Although the 17 million dollar Italian has had a strong start to the season, the former Premier League goalie wants to see a larger sample size throughout.

Vicario may not be the best goalkeeper for Tottenham, according to Schwarzer.

“Look, I think he’s done really well, I really do,” he stated.

“I think he’s done really, really well. I want to see how it goes on further into the season.

“I hold my hands up, yes, so far, he’s done well but there are still question marks in my head about whether or he is the right goalkeeper for them moving forward.

“At the moment yes, it’s all positive, all working fine for him.

“I’m not quite sure just yet, but he has had a good start to the season.”

Schwarzer still isn’t completely sold on Vicario at Tottenham

The Spurs fans will likely be a little taken aback by these remarks.

Given that Vicario has performed admirably in previous games, Ange Postecoglou appears to be rather pleased with how his top player has begun the campaign.

Meanwhile, Robbie Mustoe, another commentator, believes that Victoriano at Tottenham is underappreciated, while Schwarzer has his reservations.

Naturally, the truth will come to light as the season progresses.

Vicario, though, has undoubtedly accomplished enough thus far to imply that he has the potential to succeed.

And supporters might think that during the season, Tottenham will be subject to comparable criticism.

Pundits and opponents alike will be waiting for this Spurs team to make a mistake, but if they have, they have been let down thus far.

This weekend at Selhurst Park, Postecoglou’s team passed yet another challenging test and appeared to be the real deal.
