Tottenham Hotspur want PSG star Fabian Ruiz to compete with Yves Bissouma in midfield

Fabian Ruiz, a midfield player for Paris Saint-Germain (PSG), is reportedly a target for Tottenham Hotspur to join in the near future.

They want the 27-year-old to play in midfield with Yves Bissouma, according to Fernandes. One of the season’s most interesting tales has been the Mali international’s ascent under Ange Postecoglou.

Despite first appearing to be an oddball in Antonio Conte’s plans, he has grown to be one of the Australian-Greek manager’s most reliable players. However, he is still susceptible to weariness, suspension, and injuries.

Under Postecoglou, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg was treated as an outcast. Although he played admirably in our 2-0 victory against Fulham on Friday, it is anticipated that he will once more be limited to the bench when “Biss” serves out his sentence.

Spurs want Ruiz

The Spain international may be having issues because of a long-term deal that doesn’t expire until the summer of 2027 (Transfermarkt). Fortunately for those pursuing him, though, he isn’t receiving any significant playing time.

In ten games across all competitions this season, he has played in just 423 minutes of first-team football. Even while that’s not bad, it’s still insufficient for a player who wants to represent Spain in important competitions and is in the peak of his career.

Spurs, though, need to exercise caution in this situation. It is advisable to get rid of one or two bench players before adding him. We could turn the tide if we promised him playing time; otherwise, why would he want to leave the powerful Ligue 1 team he recently joined?

The wisest course of action would be to sign him in the winter transfer window in some capacity. After all, Bissouma and Pape Matar Sarr will be competing for their respective nations at the AFCON in January.

Considering that we are leading the pack in the title battle with just over 25% of the season played, we shouldn’t cut corners to give Postecoglou the team he desires.
