Report: Spurs are now readying an offer for international centre-back

Although Caceres has been a star in the Mexican top division for the past few years, it appears that the elite teams in Europe are more interested in him because of his recent exploits with the Uruguay national team.
The 24-year-old’s impressive performance in Uruguay’s 2-0 victory over Brazil during the international break delighted Ange Postecoglou’s team, which initially exposed Tottenham’s interest in him at the beginning of this week, according to Football Insider.
A few days ago, Record said that Club America is growing more and more resigned to the fact that Caceres will be going in January, naming Tottenham and Sevilla as the two teams interested in the midfielder.
Tottenham are preparing an offer for Caceres
As the most recent source to report on Tottenham’s interest, El Universal claims that the North London team’s desire to capture the defender is no secret.
The Lilywhites are allegedly “preparing an offer” for Caceres, according to the report, but it is not specified how much the Premier League club will give or what the center-back is worth.
Caceres has not proved at the highest level, therefore signing him on the basis of just a few international appearances would be risky. Unlike Alejo Veliz, who is a player with plenty of opportunity to develop, he is also nearly a finished product at the age of 24.
