Director admits £13m Fulham target wants to leave and is refusing new contract

DIRECTOR ADMITS £13M FULHAM TARGET WANTS TO LEAVE AND WON’T SIGN NEW CONTRACT

Fulham of the Premier League are apparently lining up a potential £13 million January deal for Victor Nelsson, who appears to be keen on leaving Turkish champions Galatasaray.

Galatasaray’s deputy chairman Erden Timur said that Victor Nelsson has little interest in extending a contract that now has less than two years left to run in an interview with Fanatik over the future of his Denmark international center-half.

Moreover, Fulham might find this to be pleasing.

According to Takvim, the Cottagers have expressed an interest in the highly regarded Nelsson, and because of his contract status, Galatasaray may be forced to consider lowball offers, possibly in the neighborhood of £13 million.

Fulham target Victor Nelsson wants Galatasaray exit

“We talked to Nelson,” Timur clarifies. “His current idea is not to extend the contract. However, he has a contract for two more years.”

Since Davinson Sanchez joined from Fulham’s nearby London rivals Tottenham Hotspur back in September, Nelsson has lost his spot in Ismail Kartal’s starting XI, which has further strengthened his position.

To play is what every football player wants. It is wise not to consider yourself a replacement, Timur continues. “He has no plans to extend the contract at this time.”

Nelsson, a gifted right-sided center-back who recently assisted Galatasaray in claiming a memorable Champions League victory away at Manchester United, may be seen by Fulham as a substitute for Tosin Adarabioyo.

With his contract expiring in just 10 months, Adarabioyo appears destined to leave in 2024.

Fulham also want a striker

“There has been interest and offers from clubs that I really want to join. I’d have liked to have moved,” Nelsson told Danish publication Tipsbladet recently. “I’ve had some talks with them.

“I informed (Galatasaray) after the last international break that I don’t want to extend my contract. I have three years left on my contract, and I just can’t see myself extending another year.”

Serhou Guirassy of Stuttgart, who holds the Bundesliga record for goals in a season, and Gift Orban of Gent are two prospective possibilities for Fulham’s need for a striker who can step into Aleksandr Mitrovic’s boat-sized shoes.
