Robin Koch, a loan signing from Leeds United, has made a positive impact on the Bundesliga side. He has featured in nine matches this season, scoring one goal and providing an assist, and has been instrumental in the Bundesliga side’s impressive defensive record of only three goals conceded. According to Bild, the addition of both the Leeds-owned player and his compatriot Willian Paco has been a key factor in the club’s success.

 

The German club have declared that the collaboration between the two players has been a “total success” and that the performances of the duo have earned the club’s sporting director, Marcus Krösche, great satisfaction.

“We are doing very well defensively,” he said, as relayed by Bild.The two center-backs have been highly praised by their respective clubs’ managers, as evidenced by the comments of Eintracht Frau Frankfurt’s head coach, Dino Toppmanöller.

“It’s unbelievable how stable Pacho is and how Robin has fit in,” Toppmöller explained.

Just last week, the Leeds man declared his determination to continue his fine form at Frankfurt in order to increase his chances of being recalled to the Germany national team. With the European Nations’ Cup coming up at the end of this season, the pressure on both him and those vying for a place in the first team could not be greater.

Dan James is looking to put the club’s treatment of him after his loan stint at Fulham behind him as he now has four assists in the Championship so far this season.

Leeds United are finally getting things going at the top of the game under Daniel Farke, and although it took two-thirds of the game to break the deadlock at Watford on Saturday it was a deserved 3-0 win.

The first two goals were scored by Dan James, who has now got two assists for the season, and he seems to be getting on top of things under Farke.

How is James getting on?

James rejoined Thorp Arch during the summer following a loan spell with mid table Premier League side Fulham, returning to a newly-promoted Leeds side with a reshuffle of the squad. He has been absent from the squad due to an initial injury, and Leeds’ attack is arguably their strongest unit on the field. However, two assists on the weekend raised James’ total to four goals for the season, after providing Luke Ayling with a chance to score against West Brom, and Joao Piroe with an opportunity to score against Millwall, putting him at the top of the assist chart.

Phil Hay comments on James influence

Phil Hay, the manager of The Athletic, has expressed his opinion on James’s current situation as he seeks to succeed in the Championship. Speaking on the The Square Ball podcast, Hay commented on the fact that James was one of the players who expressed a desire to leave the club in the summer, particularly after being sent out on loan on deadline day of last season, seemingly in spite of his own wishes to remain at Leeds.

“A lower division in the way that it has to help Rutter, it wouldn’t surprise me at all if there was confidence issues there because it wasn’t a great move to Fulham and the way it was handled, I know that James wasn’t particularly pleased about.

“But I think what he did on Saturday was quite often what people accuse him of not doing, yes the running was there, sprinting, the counter attacking and the threat to defences on the basis he’s so quick he’s a real handful. The end product was there on top of it and not for the first time either.”
