‘Easily capable’: Ian Wright fears Spurs 26-year-old could torment Arsenal
‘Going to cause people problems’
Richarlison had a bit of a let-off last season, but he’s got himself back on track this season with one goal and an assist against Sheffield United so far. He’ll be hoping to make it two goals in a row when Tottenham host Arsenal, and Wright thinks he’s turned the corner.
“You’re looking at a team now that is a very confident and a player up front who if he can now throw in 10, 12 goals which he’s easily capable of doing Richarlison now his head’s clear and everything – they’re going to cause people problems,” Wright said.
“He (Richarlison) seems to have stopped the noise in his head, the manager’s given him time out of it and brought him in and eased him into and now he feels more at ease.”
Richarlison has had a difficult start to life at Tottenham, however, there have been a number of players who have not been able to make an impact in a disappointing season for the club as a whole. With the appointment of Paul Lambert, Spurs have emerged as a more formidable team, and Arsenal must be at their peak in order to deny their rivals the opportunity to secure maximum points and a top-four finish.
