Tottenham team news: Predicted XI vs Sheffield Utd as Postecoglou makes Richarlison call

Ange Postecoglou has some decisions to make ahead of Saturday’s game against Sheffield United including whether Richarlison will make his starting XI.

‘Professional’ is praised by Ange Postecoglou Hugo Lloris and Tottenham are scheduled to leave

On Saturday, Tottenham Hotspur will play host to Sheffield United in their first matchback following the international break. Ange Postecoglou’s team thrashed Burnley 5-2 away from home in their previous game, placing them second in the standings with 10 points. With three losses and a tie through their first four games, the Blades have had a totally different experience so far. Express Sport explains the starting lineup that Spurs will likely use today.

Goalkeeper – Vicario

It’s doubtful that Hugo Lloris or Fraser Forster will start in Guglielmo Vicario’s place between the posts. With two clean sheets in his first four games after moving to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for £17.2 million this summer from Empoli, the Italian has had a respectable start to life at the club. He appears at ease as the new No. 1 for Spurs.

Defenders – Porro, Romero, Van de Ven, Udogie

Against Sheffield United, Postecoglou is expected to remain with his preferred back four of Pedro Porro, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and Destiny Udogie. Three of Spurs’ four opening Premier League games have been started by this backline, and it is not anticipated to change.

The only adjustment Postecoglou might think about making is possibly replacing Porro with Emerson Royal to increase the attacking threat on their right flank.

Postecoglou is unlikely to make many changes

The team that defeated Burnley 5-2 the last time out is expected to see little alteration under Ange Postecoglou.

Midfielders – Sarr, Bissouma, Maddison

A midfield trio consisting of Pape Matar Sarr, Yves Bissouma, and James Maddison is also likely to remain in place under Postecoglou. To give the Englishman complete attacking freedom, Sarr and Bissouma will sit deep while Maddison plays higher up the field.
On Thursday, Rodrigo Bentacur participated in first-team practice for the first time since rupturing his knee’s anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in February. He could only participate in a few warm-up activities with the team and isn’t yet totally fit.
