Despite not having played a single minute for Tottenham Hotspur, Aaron Ramsey told manager Ange Postecoglou that he has “unbelievable talent” in his ranks.

Who have Tottenham signed 2023?

Guglielmo Vicario, a youthful center back, Ashley Phillips, Micky van de Ven, England star James Maddison, winger Manor Solomon, striker Alejo Veliz, and forward Brennan Johnson were among the seven key players the north Londoners signed during the summer transfer window.

One of Postecoglou’s new recruits, Maddison, who has two goals and two assists in his first four Premier League appearances, has adapted to life at Tottenham with remarkable panache.

The performances by Vicario and van de Ven have also contributed to Spurs’ current unbeaten run in the top division. Three of their first four games have ended in victories for Postecoglou’s team, who defeated Man United, Bournemouth, and Burnley.

With Spurs playing newly promoted Sheffield United this weekend, life after Antonio Conte is so far going well. The game gives Postecoglou with the chance to secure yet another three points and disprove his skeptics.

Members of the team, including Swedish international attacker Dejan Kulusevski, confess the head coach is “surprised” by the Australian’s talent. The Australian has gained popularity at N17.

“I’ve been a little surprised but he’s really good,” said Kulusevski on his manager.

“We had a very tough time at the end of last season but he has come in with really positive energy and it has gone very quickly. We are a young team and everyone wants to play this way… It’s clear that all of us players have done our best to listen as much as possible.”

Some Spurs players have taken advantage of the international break to show Postecoglou what they can do and why he should consider starting them in the future.

One of them is summer signing Johnson, a Wales international who hasn’t yet had a chance to wear a Lilywhites jersey after joining from Nottingham Forest on the deadline day.

The 22-year-old was lauded and complimented for his “unbelievable talent” earlier this week when former Arsenal player Ramsey spoke to the media.

“He’s an unbelievable talent and has shown over the last year or so at Forest what he’s capable of doing,” said Ramsey.

“Hopefully he can take another step going forward, and hopefully for Wales he can be a main part of that for many years to come.

“He has so much ability, it’s about us now just linking him and getting our front three really firing, playing together, giving each other opportunities and asking questions of the opposition.”

How good is Brennan Johnson?

Not just Ramsey, but also Roy Keane, a former Man United player turned pundit, has praised Johnson, describing him as “very talented” as early as 2022.

“No doubt a lot of teams are looking at him and we’ll see if Forest can hold on to him,” said Keane on ITV (via Nottinghamshire Live) ahead of their FA Cup clash with Arsenal.

“It will be interested to see what he’s like against a tricky team. He’s got a bit of pace and he’s tricky.

“He’s got an assist in him and he’s really talented. Sometimes you need to go out on loan.”
