‘Sounds bonkers’: Pundit says Spurs star’s already worth £90m; and he’d take him over 24-year-old Arsenal man

James Maddison is undoubtedly being tipped by many as the Premier League’s best summer acquisition. To think that Tottenham paid £45 million to acquire him from Leicester City is almost unbelievable at this point.
Bent thinks Tottenham could already ask for £90 million for Maddison
For several years now, Maddison has excelled in the Premier League. And if he had been healthy for the rest of the previous season, Leicester should have been able to get themselves out of difficulties.
Bent maintained that selling the England international would allow Tottenham to treble their money. The Arsenal supporter continued by saying that he preferred him to Kai Havertz.
Even at £45 million, I believe it to be a great deal for James Madison. It sounds crazy, but it’s a good deal,” he said on talkSPORT.
When it was mentioned that Maddison would now be valued at £90 million, he replied, “Easy, because he’s been that good, that impressive.”
When asked to choose between the Spurs and Arsenal attacking midfielders, he responded simply, “Maddison.”
Many Premier League teams will undoubtedly be left scratching their heads as to why they did not sign Maddison when they had the chance.
Tottenham placed last year outside of the European positions. Of course, there was a lot of talk surrounding Harry Kane’s future right from the start. Therefore, it would not have been a simple challenge for Spurs to convince Maddison to make the transfer.
There aren’t many agreements that could offer better value for money so fast, though, when you take a look at some of the other signings that were made this summer, such as the £65 million Arsenal spent on Havertz.
There may be some Arsenal supporters who ask why they did not target Maddison before he joined Spurs if Havertz’s troubles at the club persist.
