The former Eurosport journalist claimed in an interview on September 6 that the criticism the 32-year-old defender has been subjected to “seems harsh” in light of all he has accomplished for the team.
He said, “The 23-year-old loanee will be expecting to be a starter under Daniel Farke at Elland Road this season after the arrival of Spence from Tottenham.”
According to Jacobs, Leeds are currently unsure of what to anticipate from the team.

However, Spence showed promise when he came off the bench to make his debut in the draw with Sheffield Wednesday, and he is certain that he can force his way into the starting lineup.
The Whites will want to make sure he gets lots of playing time this season so they can properly assess him because they may eventually want to sign him on a permanent basis.
