Graham Smyth shares what he’s heard about Harry Gray’s contract at Leeds United
Harry Gray of Leeds United is currently the talk of the town, and Graham Smyth has given another update on the matter. The Elland Road administration will undoubtedly be eager to keep Harry Gray around longer than his brother Archie. The issue is that there is interest, especially with the recurring rumors that Spurs are interested in Gray.
As for Leeds United, it’s reported that Andy, Harry’s father, is satisfied with the team’s present success and that Gray is happy at Leeds despite the Spurs connections.
Gray and Jonny Howson have drawn attention at the U-21 level, but he just turned 17 and hasn’t received a contract announcement in the weeks following..

The most recent assessment of Harry Gray’s Leeds contract status by Graham Smyth Gray’s Leeds deal is rumored to be close, but nothing has happened as of yet. Fans are becoming increasingly alarmed about the circumstances surrounding a player who Graham Smyth has called the “prized jewel” of Leeds’ academy. Smyth recently gave us an update on Gray.
But since then, another has surfaced from the reporter. “So, I did a bit of digging this morning again inside and outside the club,” he remarked in an interview with The Inside Elland Road podcast.
Additionally, there was some astonishment at the level of panic that was present. As a parent of a 17-year-old, I suppose the first thing I would say is that you cannot allow your tranquility to be disturbed by your teen’s social media activities.
Smyth goes on to say, “You have to rise above that,” in reference to Gray’s blacked-out Instagram profile photo. The club’s stance, however, was that it would depend on when and if he signed a new contract. “We expect it to get done in the next couple of weeks,” was the stance taken by his camp.
Therefore, I believe that many people may have believed, “Oh, this really needs to be done on his birthday, and it will be done for his birthday and announced shortly after.” That may not be the case for a variety of reasons.
Before deciding, the player and his team may wish to hear all of the offers that are being made. Perhaps his injury contributed to that.
Perhaps neither party was in a rush and they were only interested in settling on the specifics, but it seems like they are moving closer to where we truly want them all to be.
Leeds doesn’t appear to be concerned, so yes. There doesn’t appear to be any reason for concern over his camp. I’m not sure what you believe, but is there any way for him to get the opportunity to play in the Premier League? “Is Leeds United the best option available?” Leeds supporters will continue to worry as long as it’s in the air and other sharks are still prowling.
In recent seasons, Gray has been pursued by teams like Spurs, Newcastle United, and Man City.
In a recent statement, Daniel Farke described Gray’s predicament as follows: “Normally, we merely speak about business once business is done, that’s one of my values, that’s one of my principles, and I will stick to it.
Harry needs a few more days to recover from his hip flexor issues, so I anticipate that he will return to the team at that point as well. Naturally, we are also working behind the scenes to assemble our team for the future.
We’re attempting to conduct some business and engage in constructive conversations with players who draw us in. Harry is a young player, of course. Yes, he has a lot to offer. We have discussed this.
Additionally, I anticipate some good news in the future. I talk about business after business is done, therefore sometimes I don’t mention any specific players.
However, generally speaking, it also makes sense to do so once the player is available and healthy, for instance, when a contract is extended or a new deal is announced. For that reason, I also anticipate that it won’t be too long until we get some good news about some of our guys.
