Liverpool legend shares real reason why Steven Gerrard rejected Rangers, with Celtic truth bombs
Steven Gerrard won’t be playing Celtic again. Despite a lot of talk about the former player returning to Scotland to try to challenge Celtic’s supremacy, Gerrard has turned down a return to Rangers.
Although Ibrox has made a lot of noise about stopping Celtic, the people on the other side of the road have repeatedly failed to live up to the hype as the Hoops continue to win championships. However, why did Gerrard choose not to return to the Ibrox dugout after being praised by the Gers supporters for winning one trophy out of nine? There is little doubt that Steve Nicol is not happy with what is being stated.

Rangers aren’t even close to defeating Celtic to win the Premiership, according to Steven Gerrard. Former defender Nicol is a legend of Liverpool and one of the best players of his generation, much like Gerrard.
Rangers aren’t “anywhere close” to even taking the Premiership title ahead of Celtic, according to Nicol, who made this statement on ESPN. However, Nicol blasted the idea that Gerrard didn’t want to return because “the timing isn’t right,” saying that the former Aston Villa manager was just “not interested.”
“I don’t believe he really wants another big job. If he did, then he would take this one. He said, ‘the timing is wrong.’ That’s just an excuse for saying, ‘I am not interested.’ Let’s be honest, that’s all it is. The timing isn’t right? What are you talking about?!”
Celtic haven’t started the season well, yet they are unbeaten on the domestic stage and two points behind current leaders, Hearts.
Nicol said, “Not really,” when asked if he was shocked that Gerrard had rejected Rangers. Ultimately, you want to have some tools when you take on a job. Rangers need to win some games right now.
The Rangers team isn’t even close to winning the Scottish Premiership, in my opinion. I don’t care about competing in Europe or any other place. Does Steven Gerrard truly want to enter there at this moment with a team that will require a lot of time? Rangers aren’t really wealthy, in my opinion.
Because Celtic is still undefeated on poor days, they are the Scottish champions, and if Brendan Rodgers can get the team rolling, they will win handily.
Due to some important matches coming up, all of that can take place after the international break in October.
