Ian Wright says £40m Tottenham star is treated unfairly for having a personality

Ian Wright, a former forward for Arsenal, feels that one of Tottenham Hotspur’s important players has been treated unfairly while he has been in North London.

With just one loss since taking over the north London team, Thomas Frank has enjoyed a respectable start to his career as Tottenham Hotspur’s manager.

The Dane has undoubtedly had a difficult time, as he has had to cope with several of his main players being injured.

As Spurs continue to press on several fronts, Frank will be expecting to see players like Radu Dragusin, Dejan Kulusevski, James Maddison, and Dominic Solanke return shortly.

Ian Wright, though, has now claimed that Tottenham is treating one of those injured players unfairly.

Ian Wright, a former striker for Arsenal, discussed his thoughts on James Maddison’s perception on the Stick To Football podcast. He insisted that the playmaker is subjected to an excessive amount of scrutiny.

Maddison is anticipated to miss the most of this season as he works to recover from his ACL injury sustained during the Spurs’ preseason tour of Asia.

Wright claimed that even when Maddison’s motivations are sincere and stem from a love for the game, he is frequently criticized for merely expressing himself.

“It’s like when someone like James Madison says something, he just speaks and expresses his opinions, and everyone says, ‘Oh, really?'” Wright stated.

“He doesn’t even play, and he is always injured,” other people say.But because he has a personality, he expresses his opinions. After that, he is excavated.

Maddison’s mindset and leadership are evident to everyone.

The English midfielder is undoubtedly not one to keep his opinions to himself, as demonstrated by the continual back-and-forth between Maddison and Roy Keane during the previous season.
